open heart and borders can mean death of a known society

Immigration has remained a very controversial subject, yet few have delved into the consequences of unchecked immigration based on simple population dynamics. Rather than looking at pure science and mathematics, many prefer to think with their "hearts", recalling the old addage on the Statue of Liberty "...give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be breath free, the retched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed, to me...."  If one were to review that from a historical perspective, one would realize that the welcome mat was placed to encourage growth in an under-developed land of the 1880's with a popualtion of less than 50 million people for millions of acres of territory. Now the population for the same land mass is over 320 million. This basically means that the U.S. population increased about 6 to 7 times when the average U.S. family numbered 6 or more for each generation. That number has now dropped so that the average family is 3-4 individuals. Basically (using simple, rounded numbers), it has taken a little over 4 generations for the U.S. population to go from 50 million to 320 million. What does this have to do with the current situation regarding immigration? The specific type of immigrant is critically important. A society exists based on acceptable norms and values initially established by that society. If a different system is inserted, and that system of beliefs has a birth rate greater than your own, time favors the new, inserted system unless the country is ruled by autocratic dictatorships, which always fail. The question now becomes, what type of society is contrary to ones own society? In the current world situation, there is only one set of beliefs and values that is growing expotentially compared to other societies, and that is the muslim community. Can that be a problem? Not if that societal group agrees with, and assimilates into, the existing society to which they migrate. Unfortunately, that has not been the case in europe where sudden, massive immigration due to conflicts has occurred. Should we really expect anything different in the United States? Population dynamics tells us that the current U.S. rate of 2.1 will barely allow our society to remain intact if nothing changes with the dynamics of the current makeup in the U.S. This is not race related (Hispanic growth is the only reason we stay above 2.0), but inherent society value related. If an influx of immigrants with a growth rate of 8.0 is allowed to continue (8.0 is the current muslim growth rate worldwide), then in as little as three generations, the population numbers have radically changed whereby the values on which America was based will no longer be the dominant force by numbers alone. Mathematics is the one pure science and these facts cannot be altered any more than having a rabbit hutch that produces pure Chinchilla rabbits at a rate of 4 new ones per year vs, the hutch of white rabbits that produces 16 per year. Even if you start with more Chinchillas, eventually the whites will out-number them until finally the competition for available space or habitat eliminates the Chinchillas all together. Just like the snake eats the frog, a society and it's beliefs can be devoured until no more frogs are left.
